Cockburns Port Miniatures Cockburns Fine Tawny Port has been aged for approximately three years in small oak barrels. This speeds up the ageing process so that the wine turns a reddish-amber colour and develops a silky feel and nutty flavour. Cockburns Tawny Port is filtered before being bottled and and is quite a bit smoother and mellower than the ruby port. Cockburns Fine Tawny Port is produced from grapes grown in the lower Douro Valley. These have a lighter skin and are perfectly suited for producing tawny wine. Fine Tawny simply pairs brilliantly with most cream-based desserts including cheesecake or crem brulee. It may also be enjoyed chilled and served with most nuts.
